22nd Annual Holiday Sale 2020
2 November - 23 December
Happy Birthday Houston Studio Glass--25 Years Hot
In March of 1995 we fired up our furnace for the first time. Glass owned the day, and has lead us through this grand adventure. As with glass making, where process dominates, in our studio life the journey became the objective. We have been blessed with the riches of shared experiences, meaningful friendships, and the rewarding challenges of stepping up to the fire.
Our 2020 Spring Session was productive. We explored a theme of melting glacial ice with a limited series of ICE Vases, and added to our selection of Cane Sampler vessels. We also took time to restocked those popular holiday gift items...unique glasses, ornaments, and paperweights before shutting down in April.
This has been an extraordinary year. Like so many of our family celebrations, our Holiday Sale will be virtual this year. COVID conditions in Houston are much improved from the summer months, but the ongoing smoldering incidence and uncertain trajectory of the virus during the Fall and Winter make planning for a public event a challenge. The glass furnace will remain off for the rest of the year. The studio is unnaturally quiet. We will miss the joy of gathering our glass family together.
Out of adversity comes opportunity. We are thrilled to be part of the Heights Artisan Market, which will also be VIRTUAL this year. Enjoy exploring their site. You will find a number of the artists who have been at our studio through the years, as well as many new faces.
